Considered lucky, checkered patterns continue to be used for many things. Since the pattern continues uninterrupted, it is considered to signify prosperity and brings good luck such as prosperity for one's descendants and business growth. This luxurious and chic design uses pairs it with walnut, a luxury wood that is a symbol of abundance. Beautiful Japanese Design Interwoven by the Deep Blue of Lapis Lazuli Lapis lazuli is cut to form a Japanese pattern in this unusually designed dial. The combination of a regular pattern and the irregular, unique pattern of the gemstone in this design means that each watch's beauty is one of a kind. Lapis lazuli is painstakingly cut into parts of only about 5 mm, which are then carefully attached by hand to form the Japanese pattern in this new Lapis Lazuli Fine Pattern Series. Since these natural gemstones are brittle, it is difficult to attach them in this kind of fine pattern, and the small parts with curves, in particular, were finally completed after many attempts. Since the gemstones are fixed to the metal plate, durability is also guaranteed.
All of these products are handmade and made-to-order. Cancellations are not accepted after production has started. (Cancellations are possible within two weeks after the order is placed.)

Beautiful Japanese pattern design woven with the deep blue of lapis lazuli
This is an unique dial that combines lapis lazuli cut to form a Japanese pattern.
The combination of the regular pattern and the irregular and unique pattern of the stone makes each piece a uniquely beautiful design.
The lapis lazuli is delicately cut into pieces of only 5 mm in size.
Natural stones are easily cracked, making it difficult to apply such a fine pattern. Especially for the small parts with curves, it took a lot of trial and error to complete the process.
Durability is also guaranteed because the stones are fixed to a metal plate.

The checkered pattern became very popular in the mid-Edo period when it was worn by Kabuki actors, and even today it is used on many items as a pattern of good fortune.
Because the pattern continues uninterrupted, it carries the meaning of prosperity, and it is a pattern of good omen for prosperity of offspring and expansion of business.

The dial is made of carefully selected beautiful natural stones.
We conducted many trials and tests with expert and skilled craftsmen on delicate natural stones, which are difficult to process.
We also deal with many stones with delicate internal structures that cannot be cut into thin pieces at ordinary stone mills.
Because natural stones are very fragile, NOZ selects high quality stones by actually checking each one.
Natural stones have a variety of expressions, and even some of the most beautifully patterned stones may have cracks(*) of natural origin.
In order to make the most of the beauty of these stones, NOZ products are made stronger and more durable by fixing the natural stone to a metal plate.
(*Cracks are naturally occurring cracks like streaks or breaks in the stone as it grows.)

NOZ’s wooden bands are made through a large number of manual and careful polishing processes.
Hardwood is especially difficult to work with, and a rough texture will set on it if the polishing process is not fully matured.
